Ped, thats just it,....

Your correct in 'what' your asking....its just the wrong question....

The Differences between PHPBB2 and PHPBB3 are a lot...however 'Nuke' doesnt really use PHPBB2 which is what it claims at the lower footer of each nuke forums....its really ( NUKEBB ) which is phpbb2 'Ported' for Nuke Integration plus integration and features..

To answer your question about a 'list of differences' i believe i answered that question in a previous post, as well as provided a link...this subject is NOT new.

NukeBB far surpasses PhpBB2, as well as a 'Duplication' of PhpBB3 features.

If your 'wanting' to use phpbb3 on your nuke site...you are NOT UPGRADING, you are in fact 'DOWNGRADING' because you WILL Loose features and functionality. The ONLY people that would be UPGRADING are users of phpbb2 ( stand alone )!!!

For the rest of you, get your head out your arse...just because it 'SAYS' its new, doesnt mean its the best option for you....

You will not recieve help from me if i have to go digging for your CMS information and version, If i have to take the time to play 21 questions, then you can take the time to google! No Copyright, no support either!

Well said Baylor. For me as I said, it's much more ( user ) friendly. Almost everything you need is there without having to start installing mods all over the place to get it how you want it to look.. I was really hoping that the new builds of Raven would infuse PHPBB3. I hear some rumors that they are addressing this,,but not to sure exactly what is going on thus far with it.

dont expect ANY nuke Distro to begin implementing phpBB3 within the next 8 months....

Main reason being..( phpBB3 ) doesnt have ( ANY Additional Features ) that arent already available in the default nukeBB.

As for ( Layout ) ..thats dependent on a ( Theme ) ..so depending on what theme is being used, will have a set display...

Administration, user modification, links, blah blah...are ALL display settings dictated by your theme designer....

Example: i have a dual column display & in the Profile display of a users account on my website..its go NO MORE functionality then any other nuke website...its just easier to navigate, and since i cant seem to find the same display as any other website...i consider myself with a ( Customized, & Original ) design...

Again, if you DONT like a set display, or layout of your system, you should look into finding yourself a designer to customize the look of your website, because the functionality is as good as it gets until your next Nuke Distro Upgrade.

I have recently scrapped my phpbb2 installation and went to phpbb3 with the bridge. It works, the look and feel is much better not to mention the back end administration. I could rant on about the phpbb2 attachment mod, the sub categories, etc....but with phpbb3, it's all included. It's been packaged to meet the needs of your basic forum administrator with years of modding and complaints/problems from the users themselves. Something that really impressed me was the upgrade release of phpbb3.0.2. To my surprise, there is an automatic update option. Once you run this update, it creates backups of all files before it edits and will offer a code comparison of the two files if your having problems. I love it but I also don't want to get into a debate on which is better because they are both great products. Install it in a test environment, play around with it and you will see why some prefer phpbb3 over phpbb2 and possibly why some don't. The only reason I'm even commenting on this is because i would love to see clan themes upgrade and start converting some of their mods to work with phpbb3. muahahahaha Devil

Nuke Evolution 2.1.0 is in development which will be working off of the phpbb3. Here is a link to technocrat's video he did to show a little bit of it.

What I know. is they did stop development of this project, but it has been picked up again and they are currently working on it. A source was helpful enough to let me in that he thinks the first version may be done within a few months.

If you are wondering about why the "may" is larger and bold, this is so the people that have a tendency to miss read everything and interpret things the wrong way, can't be mistaken.

lets just clear up some confusion before everyone gets sidetracked:

1) Nuke Evolution 2.1.0 is NOT using phpbb3

2) Technoshit is moving to PHP-Evolution which is a PORTAL SYSTEM ...which is NOT NUKE!

3) Nuke Evolution 2.1.0 is already complete ( Both Basic and Clan Version ) its just that the person that took over the project does NOT like developing for the public anymore so he decided NOT to release it but to his own friends. ( Yup, i hold the only 100% working version of Nuke Evolution 2.1.0 ) so this is how i know so many details...
Yes there are 2 communities that decided to 'Pick up' the project but are still stumped on the session control system which is EXACTLY the same place the project was dumped and the original developers decided to move to php-Evolution.

4) Auto Update System has the potential of becoming a HUGE security Risk...So be VERY CAREFUL of what you ask for, you "Just Might Get IT"! Anyone that can simply click a link inside your domain URL and edit a group of SQL Tables, as well as upload files is just begging to loose their Database as well as "get Hacked' on a routine basis.

5) Ill say it again because people arent listening for shit, Nukes Ported version which comes pre-installed to your Nuke Distro HAS MORE FEATURES THEN PHPBB3. If you think dropping your 'Nuke Distro' is going to land you Added Features, then your an Idiot for not doing your research and 'Shopping' before you took the hook. Features like 'Attachment Mod, Cash Mod, Blah blah'..are Pre Installed. If your one of the people that are making assumptions from ONE Nuke Distro without shopping others and making claims that PHPBB3 is BETTER or HAS MORE FEATURES then your former Distro, its simply because of that, You havent updated your Forums, OR You havent shopped other Nuke Flavors.
Making Claims that a 'Stand Alone' Forums System is more advanced then a Nuke Forums ( Which is Integrated ) then your simply talking out your ass.

Foot Note: Yeah DFG...big ( Fuck You ) cause your development team SUCKS major donkey doo doo and one ( Ass Hole ) had the ability to fix what a group of ( Idiots ) couldn't...Same Goes for You Technoshit..your a fucking moron too!

Now I see why you were banned from there site. This exactly proves my point I made to you several times over.

But another thing is that Technocrat canceled finishing it off, but now someone else is finishing it off. It's posted in there forums, and you would of known that if you weren't banned.

As for you having a working copy, that's nice, but my issue is what I been hearing from all around, not just 1 person, but from multiple people, is you wanting, or actually putting a back door into the CMS to give you access. That's deffenetly no no in my book.
