I'd be interested how this pans out as my immediate thoughts were 'js conflicts' apart from the obvious table naming convention etc.
Might I ask why you need this?
I only ask because it might be easier to just use a hard coded menu and it would certainly be much more efficient.

I don't really need this, but I want it because I want to have an admin menu on the left (instead you always have to go to the admin panel first).

In that case, you could hard code your menu items which would be more efficient.
You could add menu items to the adminblock() function in mainfile.php which would show your new menu items in the same place as waiting content etc.
OR:
You could add them in blocks/block-modules.php which would create you new menu items inside the default menu block
OR:
You could create a new block file just for your admin menu
If you need any help with that let me know

Nuke doesn't actually have an 'administration' block by default - any administration links seen in the default *nuke installation are driven either from the mainfile.php function or block-modules.php (the sites main block menu).

I use PHPNuke 7.9, I have an admin block which I can edit in the blocks part.
Yes it's in the mainfile.php, but you can edit the content in the nuke admin.

Untergang thanks for letting me know that. I don't use anything above 7.7 because of the many bugs etc so that is a feature I did not know existed - thanks for sharing, I'll check it out.

Admin Block is a waste of space on your front page...Admin Menu is a better way to go..its Javascript based and each menu can be customized per admin on your site...

It displays so long as the user IS an Admin, and displays on ANY page loaded that includes the header.php so if your operating any nuke version it will display on EVERY page!

Maybe if some of you actually looked into other Nuke Distros besides Standard Nuke and Raven nuke you would know of the million and one added features available to nuke.

You will not recieve help from me if i have to go digging for your CMS information and version, If i have to take the time to play 21 questions, then you can take the time to google! No Copyright, no support either!

Based on your post Bayler, I thought you might be referring to an add-on of some kind but after searching for "phpnuke admin menu" I didn't see anything worthwhile in the first 5 or 6 pages.
Is this 'admin menu' specific to a particular fork of *nuke or have I missed your point?

its a supplementary download with Nuke Evolution...however, ive seen it operate on Standard Nuke...so i would assume that it would work with most Nuke Distros

Admin Menu v1.0.3 is what its called.

That might be a good solution, haven't thought about that yet....
