the problem seems to stem to jpg files. You sure the file is not there as a JPEG, or jpeg? I have run into problems with other things concerning that. Maybe the file could be modded to include those image file formats since some programs save them that way. Or, maybe need to change the file concerned to read the correct .jpg format.
Have you tried this same thing using a test .gif or .png?
is not the proper extension
Allowed extensions are .gif, .jpg, & .png
also instructions on how to upload the image to this field isn't very clear. I wasn't sure If I need to:
i) link from live site: www.burnt-clan.com/images/blah.jpg or
ii) use something like: \images\blah.jpg
I tried both options and also with .gifs but same error.
I just need to know one thing, before I start testing.
Did you chmod the images/Clan_Allies folder to 777?

On local no problem (didnt have to do it)
on live site i forgot to do it and i got the error "Error uploading image" so i chmodded the image dir and tried again and it worked fine for me, im intreasted to see what the other lads say
Seems to work fine on my host, just not locally strange. I guess I should relocate my test site to my host!
I noticed a slight problem with the display after having to approve the first clan allie submission:
Question... does the program send a email to admins about new submissions? I noticed the calendar mod from the club downloads inserts some code into mainfile.php so new content which needs approval is shown in there. maybe something for a future version? :)

I am getting the same error with this module also. and yes before you ask the obvious I did chmod my proper folder and all that jazz.
Tried this on several host aswell. Ravennuke is my version and as i said tried on local, and online on 2 seperate host and still the same old jazz comes up when entering a new ally no matter if you set it to upload or link the image its still broke and needs a fix released here soon. Looks like a really nice module though.
Update - Not sure if it might help but when you select in admin options to registered or not it seems to have an effect on this issue,
I was able to upload my image aswell as link to it and submit all just fine when it was set to no for registered. Although when i set permissions to Registered it gives me the same jazz message of not a valid image etc.
