In FTP, is the "modules" folder in the root?
If so, are there modules in it?
Also check "Root/admin/modules" to be sure that folder is there and there are files in it. Also check "Root/images/admin" to be sure there are images in there. Check all those folders and let us know.

I added a block with the ultraststs banner & tried to remove the >DDC< Server & Stats Block & while doing that got error : problem with MySLQ server will be back up soon & when it came back up modules was empty.

who is you server host? If its a paid host then you might be able to ask them to upload a back up. I know the paid host I have used in the past did that.
Sounds to me that the "nuke_modules" in the database might of been deleted. Unless if someone else has a different theory.
