Welcome messgae modPosted:

I downloaded the BBtoNuke pack from the club downloads the other day and instaleld the Welcome Message mod. It appeared to work, it installed fine and there is a section in the Admin Panel for the forum. I can even set the message the all that with no problems, but when a new user registers on my site they do not receive the PM. Does anyone have any information that might help me to figure this out, thanks.

Damn, I'm sorry. I am using PHP-Nuke 7.9. Does it make a difference that new users accounts are auto activated as opposed to receiving an email?

Well..assuming you've installed the mod correctly, and your logged in to administration...
Navigate to your Private Message System, ( Like your going to Send a PM )...
you should see ( Welcome PM ) box.....Simply type a Message, and click that 'Set as Welcome PM' and it will distribute the PM to anyoen that registers...and no it doesnt matter if your site is set to ( Auto Register ) without Email Verification.

I am fairly certain I have installed it correctly, ran the php install and edited the files. I have even double checked and all seems ok. I have logged into my site as administrator and gone to the forum administration where it has PM Settings and configured a message from a registered user, but it does not send the pm.
How do you know there is no PM being sent, did you register an account yourself, if so was you still logged in as admin,
I had the same problem thought it wasn't sending but doesn't seem to send if you are logged in as admin ???

Yes I have created an account to test and it didn't send. I made sure I wasn't logged in as an admin as well, but I as tried while logged in as an admin and neither worked.
This will sound like the most stupid of questions, but do you have PM enabled, i only as i am usually the one that misses the simple things till last...
The mod allows you to send PM Via a Person, Jake or whomever, be sure they have PM enabled etc...
sorry if this is no help but i have learnt to check the simple things first

lol, yeah the pm notification is set to on, and I see nothing in the users profile that I am sending it from about disabling or enabling pm so I guess that is good.
