Site WidthPosted:

Ok, im not that experianced with php. But ive been a web designer for years, in css i would simply put a div around my entire site and give it the properties (container would be the div)
this would set my entire site to a width of 900px (regardless of what the inside tables are, ie 100%) and auto margin everything to center. anyone know how i would achieve this in php? basically i want my site to look like the site we are currently on, a fixed width and centered, rather than a 100% across the window.
thx

so i know where the css docs are. and adding a div in the css would be easy enough, but where do i put the code in the documents for the div? i mean where do i put the div codes physically in the theme? looking through the index.php file is just getting me confused and i cant figure out where exactly to place it. it just doesnt look like normal html, and i dont really know php.

As floppy said it really depends on what theme you are using, every theme is different, and we cant tell you without know ing how the theme is coded... no point me telling you to look in a file that's not there...
You would need to place the open <div> in the themes header, and close it in the themes footer... that's all i can say without knowing what theme your using
