I like this site but 400 points or more to download a file from the "The Club" section is totally nuts. At one point this was the primary site I visited for downloads however due to this irrational point scale implemented I only return occasionally to glance over the site and look through the forums. My downloads I get elsewhere.
I understand the reasoning but I don't believe the end will justify the means. To many other sites merely require registration for their downloads, and in comparison, this site offers nothing better than other sites with free or required registration such as ravennuke or nukecops, which have 100's more nuke downloads based in their downloads sections.
I know this sounds a bit harsh, it's not meant to, I like these guys and I like the site, and again I understand the reasons why the point system is in place, I just think the standards are excessive and over the top. People will get tired and find other places for their downloads just as I did.

I'm not trying to be offensive here, I'm trying to merely point out that "working for" or "earning" points go download files that can be easily found on any number of other sites for free or by mere registration is equilivant to placing the perverbial "internet knife" to your throat and slowly slicing at your throat, eventually cutting your own head off.
Ravenuke has 100's of downloads, Nukecops and Nukecode are the same, 100's of them. Most are duplicated. Why would an individual want to come here and work to get the same downloads they can instantly access those sites for. Most of your downloads have their own site, if I wanted vWar mods or blocks, why would I come here and work for 15 credits when I could hit any number of sites including the programs mother site and have it within moments.
I know you want more members, I know you want a popular site, I know you want to make money and offer a great product. But the cost awhich you are passing on to your potential customers both in productive time and wasted time are dramatically offset. They will come back if they feel your site and their experience is productive, currently with this point system, they are wasting more time than they are having productive time.
Follow this thought: when you went to cable or dsl from dial up, would you go back to dial up when cable or dsl is available? Hell no, you'd use dial up as a last resort. This point system on your site is just like dial up, why use this site when you can use cable or dsl and have immediate productive time?
Again, I really do like this site or else I wouldn't care enough to come here and check up on the forums, god knows I don't do it for the downloads like I used to. I like my productive time to much.
I hope this stays on a congenial level, I'm truly not trying to offend.
I will meet you in the middle, I set the points to 250, but I would never go any lower than that.
Don't care how many sites you have to visit to get what you want for free. pfft.
You can download from the actual downloads for free and that builds up your points a lot faster.

Dude, again I like our site... I really do. I do want it to be around for a long, LONG time.
It's just my humble opinion that the price to get a download here is to much and people will get flustered and not come back because of it.
Evidentally I've irritated you which is the last thing I wanted to do, if you prefer I don't come back, I'll leave saying good luck with your site and I hope you're a success.

I am not trying to argue with you but your clearly missing the point. Relic.
The club is subscriber system first off. So to be able to get something for free that normally would cost you money is always a plus. No matter what you have to go through to get it.
The reason people pay for club access is to get a nice collection of downloads in one place. period.
However the point system is in place for people who only want one or two downloads instead of a mass of them. period.

Ive had a few nuke sites now, and ive also done this myself in the past..
People will just sign up for free downloads.. once they have the downloads they don't come back...
This site has rather a lot of downloads me and floppy have collected over the years.
If some one wanted a certain file they could grab it, the points system is merely to stop individuals pinching everything and running, and it seems to work.
The club is a different kettle of fish all together, the better rarer modules/blocks/files tend to end up in the club, and the club alone pays for the upkeep of the entire site.. We only offered a points incentive for site members to get files from the club for a bonus, where as before it was subscription only.
Thats it really.. weve never had many complaints as such about the points system as users understand why its in place.. if your downloading from the downloads module, by the time you have viewed the pages and gone back to see another file you normally have enough points anyway..
Its the more expensive point items that kill peoples point count.. and there all the files from the club
Im hearing your concerns, but at the end of the day who's on dial up these days...

If there is a necessity for more space and need for additional upload gigs, I have an unlimited upload/ download with the program I have and would gladly offer it to assist with any short commings.
There are always going to be those who come and get downloads and leave without comming back, those aren't the ones to be focused on. Others, like myself who have returned here numerous times to download the same downloads time and time again, find this site a very useful tool that improved my productivity time. Now, gathering poiints is a must to come back in to here grab a download to make a site more visually eye pleasing. So I find my downloads from other sites insted of here. I'm to busy to wait and gather points as I'm sure others may become who are constantly working on websites as a hobby or for friends.
I guess I could download and save everything, but then I don't function like that. I know the downloads I like and the urls associated with them. I'd like to add this site again to the prefered list, but again, why use dial up when I can use cable. My time here will be in the forums more than anything else.
