That's a confusing question, simply uploading it will require admin approval. Adding it via your Downloads Admin section it will automatically be validated.
As far as download information, go into your general settings, if you have any, and chose the options to either leave it on or turn it off. However, I question this simply because one should always give credit where credit is due. Yeah, it's a pain in the rear to do this to all your downloads but if it was your own work you'd appreciate the respect of someone giving you the credit you deserve for its creation.
The last part of your question is more confusing than the beginning, what exactly are you wanting to do? It sounds like you want to hotlink your downloads from other sites... but, I'm not sure. Generally doing that will get your service cut off until you correct it.

Yes, if I understand you right. What you do is upload the files to your site, through FTP. Make a subdirectory if there is not one already called "Downloads". Basically it would be ROOT/Downloads/FILENAME and once you upload it, you now go into your ACP, (admin control pannel), and click on the "Downloads" button that sould be in the modules section of your ACP, (meaning the bottom section of your ACP). Fill out the information to the best of your knowledge, the URL it ask for is the link to the file you want them to download. So if you have it in the folder I explained above, all you would have to put in for the URL is Downloads/FILENAM.zip or what ever it is, If that doesent work, put in /Downloads/FILENAME.zip or www.YOURSITE.com/Downloads/FILENAME.zip .
For you users to see the list of download you have on your site, you would have in your navigation it connected to your "Downloads" Module or www.YOURSITE.com/modules.php?name=Downloads
I believe that is what your asking. When filling out the form for the download, not all information is required, but its nice to give credit where it is due if you are offering others to download work that is not your own. Its also nice if you can contact the original creator and get his/her permission to have it for download.

i was under the understanding that files you want to download in nuke, have to be .zip or .tar.... and be uploaded to your host in to your /modules/downloads/
Correct me if im wrong but that's what i understand as how to do it..
