I have a question that I'd be interested in the answer of, I notice that a person obtains points by either going page to page surfing your site, adding downloads, or doing whatever, there are a number of ways to "get" points here.

Saying that, I'm asking this: As many "Clan-Themes products" that you have, why is there a point charge for downloading your products? Every "Clan-Themes" product I have ever tested or used has the "Clan-Themes" logo posted all over them, meaning you are recieveing free advertisement each time they are used, but still the downloader is charged points. I can undertand the point system for non-Clan-Themes products, but the points on the products that gives this site free advertisement doesn't make sense.

Also, no one has yet answered my question as to why my points were removed from about a month ago? I like this site and I have a scrolling link to this site on my furion-gaming page which from my understanding negates the taking of points for whatever I download.

I've have points taken from me twice, both with no explaination or at least explainations I ever found.

And yes I'm bitching...

The points system is very complex indeed and cannot be explained as to why you lost points, trying to downloads things.

I cannot just take your word on you saying you lost points as everyone will start doing it ! saying that there has only been 3-4 complaints that people have "lost" points.

The reason points are charged for our items, is because the points downloads system was installed after all the files were added to the system, and just going through every single download on the site would have been crazy, so floppy made a auto script to give every file a 15 point download.

please bear it in mind that all points for downloading items in the club vary from 300-800 points, hence we wont be giving any club file away for penuts.. (and probably why you lost so many points so fast)

You will only get files for less than 50 points from the downloads module. The club alone pays for the sites hosting and expenses/and advertisment.

I agree you can't take the word of everyone or everyone would be bitching, I just have an issue with what I have experienced. I like this site and I like the idea it's based on. My problem is I test sites and CMS's for clan and business based CMS's and I come back here for downloads that I may think would work great for a specific site. I may download the same product 4-5-6 times or more, which is fine for me because I know the "Ckan-Themes" name is on your products and they don't have to hit me up for the site I got it from. On the same token, I have been testing beta's recently and the EVO-CLANS version I tested, 80% of the products I was either "Clan-Themes" or picked up from here. I'm not saying that I am a part of the EVO team, I am NOT. But when I'm asked by one of their team members to test their beta, I do. The list of my tested products are published on the darkforgegfx website, the list I compliled will be recognizeable not just to you guys, but the people who are looking at that CMS as well when it gets released.

I added your site on to my front page to elivate the issue of running out of points and to stop from advancing senselessly page to page just to get a point, or enough points to download an item. Again I understand the whys but the longer I'm here the more it feels like punishment insted of a helpful convenience. Not to mention the willingness to promote your site or the willingness refer people here is starting to lose it's luster as well.

This is just an opinion and an observation from one person half way around the world from you guys. I don't expect much to happen from this conversation, but if the sites stats have leveled out and generally less reoccuring visitation is expericed, you may want to consider "inconvenience" being a part of the problem, not the solution. Can't grow if they don't come and stay...

I see what your saying, i didnt want to create site where people just download all the files and dont come back ever again.

My main aim when i started clan themes was to just make the odd theme here and there.. but seen as my hard drive was busting with files i thought i would share them, lol i think ive only added about 20% of my personal collection yet.. i just dont get the time to do everything these days !!

How is the Evo clans going, ive not heard nothing about it for a while.. There is a few clan versions in the pipe line now.. it was something i wanted to throw together, but i think the only real thing a nuke gaming site needs is a awsome replacment for vWar in one or more module, and hopefully Clan Roster 2.0 will do that

I generated a 76b4 Platinum Clan Version a year or so back but ran into some obsticles with the sql files as I'm not very sql savy.

The EVO-Clans versions was a step out of the ordinary but interesting to test products on. As it is I'm not a fan of EVO but I do see the prospects of how it can be a beneficial CMS.

I understand they why's for the point system, it just merely interferes with what I do as an active php website user, tester, developer..or what ever other title someone else may call someone who tinkers and helps others with their Nuke sites.

Also, I haven't messed with those theme templates lately. I know detail is essential but time for me is an issue. More than time is having someone to slice the theme is the biggest problem, why waste time on the finer details if I can't get the darned thing sliced?

true slicing is one of the skills to a nuke theme..

I typically make my theme in 1 PSD first, then out of that PSD make 3 PSD's

1 header PSD
1 footer PSD and
1 for the tables and blocks

then i make seperate individul ones for the forums, but les forget about forums !!

Once i jahe the 3 smaller PSD's i slice them, and photoshop will even generate the code for you, i then like to convert the header/footer to php and code them up with all the fancy bits n bobs..

You should have seen some of my first themes !! they were indeed terrible but we have to learn ...

I can slice a theme into seperate PSD's for you if you create a theme template if you get stuck np

I have noticed people mention a banner system in exchange for points/downloads. is there somewhere i can read up on this? I dont plan on going anywhere as i have learned allot here. but this point system is going slooooooow lol.
