Nuke is fading cos there is not much useful module that people can use, there are so many example that we can learn to import ideas in developing the module like a simple digg module .The core php nuke is so far secure than jomoola thanks to ravenscript and SN. Rss aggregator is another aces i see only akions mulitheadlines module is producing such option which has a future. The module developer of php nuke is going to the wrong direction not following the popular example from the internet market. cos their heads is bigger than facebook lol

only reason i could think of why nuke would die off is cause it is to easy to hack. Need to come up with a way to keep the site from getting hacked.

some say joomla was many time targeted than phpnuke i found out at digital forum oh yea by the way one of my site was attack i trace the attacker coming from this site?
I gotta say with RN and with Sentinel set-up right its a hard thing to beat, As raven has rightly said in one of his recent posts on here, his site gets hack attempted hourly even sometimes by the minute but it has not been hacked. Only attempted and failed might I add, I too have had well in access of 500 hackers trying to do my site but coz of Sentinel and having Ravens Nuke I feel very secure...

Anyone running a nuke site without Sentinel is just begging to get RAPPED! The new version of Nuke Plat has not only Sentinel, but the new Nuke Fusion that catches things that Sentinel might miss. Not only that with Fusion you can do so much more to protect and admin your site then with just using Sentinel alone. I currently have 5 website running Plat 7.6.b.5 and they are bullet proof.
I personally don't think nuke is going to fade away. I am seeing new modules come out every week for it. The modules I created were created cause the community was asking for them. If there is a demand for what I do then I will do it. I used some of those other CMS out there and found no modules that were geared towards what I needed. When i was first off with Nuke, I was running 7.9, unsecured. After my site got hacked, I looked around and found the patches, along with sentinel. So I downloaded sentinel and the latest patches and put them on my site, With in the first hour or 2, I had 3 hack attempts and sentinel cought them and banned them. Since then, I haven't had a hack attempt. I am always looking out for improvements I can do to my site to make it more secure.

The success nuke has experienced is indeed because of it's "Open Source" criteria and it's ability to ligitimately be interactive with a user. The main problem I'm noticing is the greed that runs rampant within its veins. Those who are "in the know" aren't so willing to share their knowledge, unlike html, dhtml or xhtml resources who will gladly help you. They are starting to let go of their greed, but the cost thus far may be to little to late.

Relic is correct about those not willing to share...some developers have good reason to not want to share, and some do it for greed...
Whomever claimed Nuke Plat as ( Secure ) is sadly mistaken. The Last reported Exploit in Nuke Platinum was from the favorites.php file which was largerly removed from most Nuke Distros almost 2 years ago....For Plat to have that problem recently reflects on the developers lack of updating their own work!
Fusion is a combination of Nuke Sentinel and Nuke Protector...also, dont forget, nuke Platinum is no longer being developed ( All their developers with the exception of one, have left Futurenuke ) If anyone is wondering, most of the Nuke Plat support staff moved to www.darkforgegfx.com
Nuke has not, nor will it anytime soon ( Fade Away )...there are too many people that want a self install Website, and Nuke makes that happen...
I will also state, 'Nuke' isnt insecure, its the 3rd party modules and scripts that get hacked, not the core! Holding nuke responsible for Vwar exploits is just simply ignorant.
As for the next big ( CMS ) its called ( V-3 ) which is being developed by the creators of Nuke Evolution.. Should have a beta release inside of 18 months from now. Im not sure what will happen with Nuke Evolution upon the release of ( V-3 ), its the ( Newest Nuke Distro ) and arguably the fastest available.
IDDemonLord, could you please specify ( Banning Admins )??? are you referring to the 'Edit Admin' issue ?
That issue stems from only allowing 'God Admins' the ability to edit other admins.
You will not recieve help from me if i have to go digging for your CMS information and version, If i have to take the time to play 21 questions, then you can take the time to google!
No Copyright, no support either!

I agree with Bayler, as negative as my post is about the future of php nuke, I do agree that it'll never truly disappear.
It'll tale a lot of good people for it to have a 2nd wind.
