Raven Nuke!

What I like about it are several things. These are not listed in any specail order. Security. Raven Nuke is the most secure php nuke available.
Ease of installation. A forum that is full of helpfull individuals and the Mod's there can't be beat. I have not yet had a problem running any blocks or modules that I have wanted or needed to run.

Platinum 7.6.b.5

I've been with platinum since the beginning, however, I have to admitt that I generally go in and do my own modding, ya' knoiw delete this, add that, rewrite this or that. I don't like the size of Platinum, but when I'm done with the slicing and dicing the sucker runs not just fast, but DAMN FAST.

It's true that Evo is more secure, but it's not for Noobs and is not user friendly. It assumes you know what you're doing.

Currently I am testing a Evo-Clan version for some EVO people and although I have found errors galore, I do like the way it looks and runs. I may use if for a 2nd or back up site... I'm not sure yet.

Never used RN

I do like the basic versions of Nuke though to play around with, not much to screw up there, lol.

Ive been running Platnium for about 2 years now and I like it alot. Havent really tried the others as it is a pain to do the switch over and I am still in the ancient age with dial-up. It would take me a week to upload all the files for Evo. I wasnt aware that raven had a package. What security features come with Ravens?

I just finished testing Evolutions Clans Edition, aka Evo-Clans,

I think some of you are going to be quite suprised and in a good way. I'm not a fan of EVO, but this could easily surpass everyones expections when and if the package gets completed and it is done right the 1st time around.

If my testing accounts for anything, there *should* be a list of known functioning programs, a lot of which came from here. We'll have to wait and see what the actual Dev team does.

I myself am a huge fan of Nuke Evolution. There are many reasons to support the opinions of Nuke Evolution as being the "Most Promising Open Source CMS" (as selected by www.packtpub.com). Being the only Nuke Fork to win this award of prestige, Nuke has stood the test of a panel of Judges that tested all entries for performance, usability, accessibility, ease of configuration and customization, scalability and security. Nuke Evolution has also been found to be mentioned on several Hacking communities as "very secure". Since the existence of Nuke Evolution most security fixes have been submitted to both phpBB and Nuke Sentinel by Technocrat (Founder and Lead Developer) himself, as well as additional issues in which the authors of mentioned scripts refused to acknowledge. With Nuke Evolution always being ahead of the game in regards to already having the fixes in its core prior to new updates being released by phpBB and Nuke Sentinel, this allows users to focus more on their site development than concerned of their security. If new updates does provide new fixes not caught by the Evo team, they are just as quick to release patches as well as grant proper credits. With the embedding of Nuke Sentinel throughout the entire Evolution package, you can feel much safer knowing that your site has a built-in shield.

Redundancy has been removed allowing better more appealing organization such as the unnecessary use of two profiles. Query counts have been drastically lessened for better load times and less server resource demands. Additional enhanced mods have been added along with additional features and functionalities that you will not find in any other CMS.

Nuke Evolution has been designed in such a brilliant way, that only widely used modifications were added, eliminating the unnecessary eyesores that accompany other CMS's like Platinum. As a previous user of RavenNuke and a victim of 5 successful hacks through their CMS (including their latest release) as well as a once strong supporter of Platinum and a victim of exhausted server resources, I found Niuke Evolution covered all of my concerns as well has added fucntionalities that I could have never dreamed of.

Just my thoughts,
Ghost

Ghost,

Technocrat is not only a long time professional friend of mine, he is a Moderator at my site and a contributor to RavenNuke(tm) as well as one of the people that I consider among my "inner circle" if you will, when it comes to design/code issues. We have corroberated on code when we found it needful/advantageous. I have helped him at times and he has helped me. I say this up front to ensure that my comments are not misunderstood by anyone.

Nuke Evolution is an excellent and secure version without doubt. We are not in competition with each other (nor anyone else for that matter). We support each other readily w/o hesitation as far as I know. The major difference is that their distribution is more targeted to people that want many addons preinstalled and ours is for the slim and trim audience. I consider neither better. They are different.

I find this statement of yours As a previous user of RavenNuke and a victim of 5 successful hacks through their CMS (including their latest release) very questionable to say the least and defamatory at the most. Out of the thousands of downloads and users, including the RavenNuke(tm) Team, why has no one else seen anything like this? When was this? What were the hacks? What were the blocks/modules that were hacked? Was NukeSentinel(tm) installed and active? Were you using AdminAuth? Were these supposed "hacks" flaws in the original phpnuke code that came through Security sites?

I also find your statement very unprofessional and definitely not in the interest of the community. If you had these issues then why have you not reported them to us in the interest of public safety? BTW, My sites are under constant attacks all day long, including http://ravennuke.com. I have all blocks and all modules active. I have never had 1 hack attempt become a hack.

I expect you to be professional and courteous enough to either document your "5 hacks" or edit your previous post.

I will edit those remarks out if he does not respond in due time..(48hrs)

JFYI We use Ravens Distro here on Clan Themes, and i can say we also have continued hack attempts, but not one successful hack to date!

This site has been up 15 months now and i have not see 1 report of a hack reported here on clan themes using Ravens Distro and i must have set up 100+ sites not to mention all the users i recommend it too..

I will continue to recommend Ravens Distro to all my clients and future clients.

On a side note the thread is titled "whats your favorite version" i should have intervened really a little earlier, but must have been having a bad hair day (sorry)
