PhpNuke Modules Roster 2.0 Preview 4-8-08 (853 Reads

Just thought I would post some updates for those curious about Roster 2.0 and progress.  We all know its long overdue and it is finally getting worked on again.  This is a screen shot of the add member page and it should give you a small insight of upcoming features.

As you can see I have added multiple clan tags, divisions,  and multiple game selection.  None of those options are needed for roster to operate, but there for those who need them.

Roster 2.0 has been completely recoded to operate more successfully with any phpnuke distribution or maybe soon other CMSs.  I also completely reformated the way the ribbon / award system works as it was flawed.  I have added 2 extra screen shots per member to make a total of 4 and working on different template options for different phpnuke themes.

Some other features that made the cut is ribbon integration into the forums and auto inactive or active members.  Auto Active and Inactive is still in the works, but I am pretty sure its possible.  That part may be released in the support forums as its purely nuke and not related to the core application.

Some extremely exciting stuff and I think your going to enjoy it.  I will keep this article updated with new images, so check back often.

Floppy,

On another note, since I completely rewrote the way roster works and lays out. Its going to be damn hard to write a possible upgrade from 1.7. I really hate that and have not given up on the idea.

I am at least going to try, but its one the problems I foresee for the future.

Will be finished sometime during April pending some beta test on different distro's. Soon followed by a Matches plugin that works with the roster core.

This looks awesome Floppy, the multiple game selection is a really cool idea im glad you took me up on it lol ;-)

Are you still gonna do what was done with PDi and the forums? Or is that going to be a plugin?

I wouldn'y mind paying for this again as I think it's such an upgrade that it deserves to be paid for again... maybe a discount for previous purchesers of CR1.7?

Looking forward to this one for sure!

It has html templates so you can just remove anything u don't want people editing. Very simple.

Completely customizable.

Well as for the Join Date off option, our squad has been around since '01, where as thru the years we never really recorded join dates......and the only way I could add some1 to Roster was putting in the date.........so its good u have made that an option in 2.0............but I must say 1.7 is a nice piece of work

Nope, you can switch around the design, but you can't add your own custom fields yet. Interesting thought though. Besides with people selecting more than 1 game, you don't have a lot of room on the main page anymore like 1.7 did. Those game images take up too much space lmao.

If I do it will not be in this patch. I am trying to avoid turning roster into a gallery.

Hey Floppy are you going to have it so the division are split up like you have active members and inactive members?

Can't do what your asking on the front page. Its already sorted by rank or member id and active or unactive. That is enough for one page or you will get script lag. However, Divisions have their own page that shows its members. Much like the 1.7 ribbon page.

Live beta at http://www.t3gaming.com/clan-roster.html [www.t3gaming.com] should be up and running in a few hours. Having some of the other site admins do it when they are around to get a feel for user level and stuff.

Idea!!!! would you be able to add in custom reasons for when you give someone a medal or ribbon? so when you go look at the persons ribbons/medals you know why they got them. I know you have the standard reason for the ribbons/medals but it would be cool if you could put custom reasons in when issuing the medal

Just a idea i would like to see in 2.0

Well it all depends on beta testing. I would guess another week or so.

Here is a great example of a 2.0 profile. Doesn't have any awards, but thats all that is missing.
