What is this really about? I mean I see no point to this? I mean I am not that familiar with Lobolinks but I surfed there after reading your article and all I see is a directory listing site with not much listings and no page rank? How is that useful? I mean first with no page rank it is not likely to help your page rank much. Second search engines can actually punish your rank if your site is associated with link farms so I am not sure I see the value here?

I am glad you asked some of these questions. First off the module was built for a challenge more than anything. I just posted it for download so others could study what I did. It can be very useful in other situations.

Page Rank
Google updates page rank about every 3 months. Since the site has only been open for close to 1 you will not see the results of my hard work. Even a page rank 0 site can help build your SERP rank in the engines. Simply because of the anchor text.

If I have 1000 link with the anchor text "most goofy man alive". Then naturally I will rank closer to the top for that search.

Eventually the site will have page rank and the cost to be listed will go up. Thats for sure.

Link Farms
Google is more likely to punish a site (the link farm) vs actually punishing your stie. Listing in quality directories will never hurt your rankings.

Pretty much like any other directory. You will only receive "back links" from your listing and a few other places on the Lobo Links site.

Thanks for clarifying things for me. I didn't realize Lobolinks was your creation and new. It's name has the ring of something that's been around awhile that's why I was surprised to see it not too full or ranked yet. Good choice in the name then!
