My name is Russell my gaming name is -V-, My clans name is Ds 'Dark Shadows'. . . I know it sound kind of weird as shadows are already dark but hey.
Anyway I started playing a game called star trek armada about 7 years ago and I join a clan named Ds I stayed in that clan until it died :( I carried on playing the game and still do to this day but I stayed as a freelance until I made Ds.
On September the 7th 2005 my old brother died in a car accident I was distraught to say the least, I began to seclude myself from the world maybe it was just my way of dealing with the fact of losing one of the people who I idolised. I needed to keep myself occupied to try and forget what had happened, suddenly I remembered Ds for some reason and decided to create a clan dedicated to my brother thus I recreated Ds.
I was completely dedicated to getting this clan up and running on Star Trek Armada 1 at first I bought a domain and just done some basically HTML as I didn’t know anything about Database PHP or CMS I then decided to try my luck at flash I have to say it wasn’t bad for my first time but it lacked usability.
As I was browsing the net for website designers to design my site, I stumbled across another clan’s website and thought WOW; I want a clan website like that. I found out it was phpnuke it took me a while how to figure out how to installing it all, that was when I first found out about MySQL :0 .
Eventually after installing phpnuke and adding some content the clan was finally ready to be broadcast. my clan first started off with only a few member me, my 2 younger brothers and my sister, a family clan almost, slowly but surely we got more and more members.
As my knowledge of phpnuke increased so did the fact that there were other types out there, WOW lol I installed several version of nuke phpnuke, ravennuke, nuke platinum and finally the one I’m using now Nuke EVO.
Ds, since it has been created has come up against several problems 'clan wars' 'spy' 'Terrorist' I know that all might sound silly but when someone with a malicious intent comes into your clan and starts sowing seeds of destruction it can be very destructive and demoralising.
My clan nearly collapsed at one point, the only reason I fought as hard as I did to keep it going was because my clan was built for my brother and I’m NOT going to let it die. (Maybe stupid but just the way my brain works)
Ds struggle for a while to keep its head out of the water constantly being attacked by other bigger clan or more established clans. I often thought to myself why attack my clan why try and destroy something I have work so hard on we weren’t doing anything wrong apart from play the game and enjoying each other’s company I eventually figured it out with the help of some ex member of the clans that were trying to tear Ds apart it was the fact that I had worked so hard on it and put so much time and effort into my clan and the fact the website looked awesome compared to their 'freeweb' sites. Anyway . . .
Ds have now branched out to other games we are now on Star Trek Armada 1, WC3 TFT 'Warcraft 3 the frozen throne' and Galaxian Empires.
We have a total of 25 members 3 of which are inactive and are currently recruiting for the games we play our motto is "We Play, We Laugh, We live" is something that all Ds members agree with. Its game not to be taken seriously.
Ds used to be on MOH AA and had a dedicated server for it but we decided that game wasn’t for us.
We are now currently exploring new games to move Ds into
I have 6 Hc (High Council) Members these are my right hand men they help me with website problems basic running of the clan and moderation of the forums and games. I trust these guys implicitly.
I am fairly new to clan-themes but from what I can tell you guys are the bee-knees. I have bought one script from you the clan roster 1,6 which I might add is awesome recommend it to anyone. Also I have downloaded many free scripts from you, which I search the internet for ages and couldn’t find.
Our plans for the future are simple really to go on, go forth and spread to word of Ds and spread our motto throughout the gaming world. I plan to run the clan until I cannot no more whether it is because I have grown old a senile or because god forbid I cannot get to my computer ever! ! ! Do you think they have computers in hell??? lol
