The other day I was over at codezwiz.com just browsing through the post like I normally do. Looking for a question I know the answer too. I happen to run across an introduction post to a site called
PC Freaks and Geeks. The title itself enticed me to check it out.
After opening the page I found myself browsing through one of many reviews of computer hardware and the latest gaming peripherals. Which of course interest me because I am always looking for a good way to blow $500 or more on something. One of his latest reviews covers a interesting new piece of hardware,
Fragpedals Elite USB Gaming FootPedal from
GamingMouse.
If your favourite past time is gaming then you will understand that a top notch system and quality gaming peripherals go hand in hand. Wouldn't it be great if there was a gaming product out there that could give you 4 buttons that are strategically placed beneath your feet? Sound impossible? Well if you have the FragPedal in your possession, then the answer would be: nothing is impossible!!.
Apart from being incredibly versatile, the FragPedal boasts a 32KB internal memory chip, enabling you to store up to 30 different gaming/software configurations. Alongside this, the FragPedal buttons are controlled by embedded microprocessor technology that enables multi-command capability and can act like a standard mouse button or keyboard key. And if this wasn't enough to convince you that the FragPedal will take your gaming experience to the next level, what if i was to tell you that you could have all these features and more by way of simple plug and play!! You would be impressed yes?.
I know some sceptics out there will be shouting "cool idea! but gaming with your feet, isn't that going to be very difficult to get used to?" My sentiments exactly, that was until i began using the FragPedal, so how did it perform? Was it worth it's weight in gold? Did it make my gaming experience any more enjoyable/easier? Read on to find out....
I think the whole review has 8 pages and I found myself on page 7 before I realized it. Throughout the 8 pages your going to find out everything you need to know about those damn pedals and you can even leave your own comments for others also.
I find myself all the time standing in a store wondering if I should buy a new product to tweak my computer? Many times I have spent my hard earned money on parts that just turn out to be not exactly what was written on the box. I am not ashamed to say I feel smarter for taking a few minutes to read a review someone has put a lot of time into writing.
It wouldn't be a review if I didn't criticize them a little. One thing I really didn't like was the two banners on the front page. Two? I understand paying the bills, but slamming two banners in my face at one time just turns me away. Had I not of been curious, I would of immediately left. There will be plenty of places for ads on other pages considering you can keep them on the front page long enough to look around. Also I think people stay longer if the review block and images were the first thing I got to see. Entice me to click one of your links by showing off your hard work with an image.
I give this brand new site an overall rating of 9.0 out of 10.
Considering their color schema was pleasing to the eye and easy to follow. Most important they are brand new and proven to be an interesting source for pc gaming / hardware related content. I hope to see more of them in the future.
