No more Google Adsense for Clan Themes

Posted on Wednesday, June 06, 2007 @ 21:51 by floppy

The below content is simply my personal opinions and preferences

For a long time now I have experimented with Google Adsense and PhpNuke.  It just doesn't work for this site.  Unless you can produce 15-30 keywords per Adsense page the ads you get are hardly going to be related  to your website schema.

Text ads seem to produce the most related content vs amount of keywords per page.  Overall we earned $4 with Google Adsense in the last few months.  If we are not advertising in something that could possibly interest you then we are providing you with useless eyecandy.  Which you will just scroll through anyway.

The everyday internet user has become smarter about spotting advertisements and through a lot of people over doing it.   Any  advertisement related or not are just simply ignored.  Clan Themes was recently approved for Vibrant Media's IntelliTXT which is better known in the internet advertising world as in-text ads.  You have seen it before, its the double underlined hyper links.  Don't get Kontera confused with intelliTXT.  The huge difference is  IntellTXT promises to deliver related ads to your page within certain categories as Kontera promises to deliver ads to any keyword  that might match ads in their advertising program.  For instance just the other day I moused over a Kontera advertisement for the words "my site".  Not even sure what it was, but its my personal preference to not have every word in this site's content become an non- sense ad.   I can see some up sides and downsides to matching a lot of keywords per page.  For instance, the more keywords that become an advertisement the more possible click through a site will get,  but we all know you didn't come to find out about hurrican donations, wedding dresses, or "my site".  Odds are you are here to get some support with a phpnuke problem you have or snag a few downloads for your phpnuke clan site.  I can not officially knock Kontera as I have never used it on any of my sites and I have no intentions of coming across as so.  Clan Themes was approved for both, but we chose intelliTXT.

We have agreed to give intelliTXT a 30 day trial sometime in the near future.  I would like to hear what you think.

A trial is fine by me floppy, my personal thought on advertisement on clan themes is a big no no or i would like to see game related advertisment only.

I understand that is more or less impossible but we also have to weigh up the pros and cons, if like google adsence is only going to raise is $4 for a few months.
Im sorry but idd rather do without as you rightly stated people haven't come here to be harassed by adds all over the site.

Great article floppy, your getting very good at this matey !

We have google adsense on our site and we get related ads. In the beginning this was sometimes a problem but lately it's better.
